So… What is a Shrink Wrapping process?

Shrink Wrapping is a method of packing multiple products together by encasing it in a polypropylene sheet, passing the products through an oven/hot air environment, causing the polypropylene to shrink and tightly bound the products together. It is commonly used for protecting and keeping bottled/canned products on shallow, food quality trays. This then gives the product more stability, protects it from tampering and can be used to show marketing images etc (printed shrink wrap).

So… What is Flow Wrapping? (Flow Wrap)

Flow wrapping is a method of wrapping product with a continue flow of wrapping material.

Products such as biscuits, confectionery and stationary booklets or collations of both can be wrapped in food grade polypropylene with a crimp seal top and bottom and fin seal running the length of the pack.

Flow wrapping is a packaging process that over wraps a product within a film. This food quality film can be clear, opaque or printed in up to 10 colours. Moorheys performs our flow wrapping operation on six types of flow wrappers

Over wrapping is as it suggests… Wrapping over a product, usually with a clear foil. Boxes of chocolates are a good example. Over wrapping ensures that a product is in excellent condition by the time the product reaches the buyer. It protects the product from things like dust, humidity, tampering etc..

VFFS is an abbreviation for Vertical Form Fill and Seal, is a method of placing product in to a bag and then sealing it. The latest machines can precisely count or weigh different combinations of product before placing it in to the bag and sealing it.
